Tips on “how to avoid constipation”

Constipation is a term used to describe “difficulty in defecation”. It is usually accompanied by an expulsion of small amount of hard feces, and an infrequent expulsion of feces. Avoiding constipation is necessary to enjoying good health. Below are some tips that can effectively help in avoiding constipation.

Eat properly

A proper diet is essential in avoiding constipation. Below are some foods that contribute the most to constipation prevention.

Whole grains, and their products
► Fresh fruits, except pomegranate, loquat, and persimmon (which are all astringents).
► Dried fruits such as raisins and prunes.

Drink enough water

This is a straight-forward and important tip. If the body is not properly hydrated, the large intestine absorbs water from the feces. Thus, making the feces dried up, and as well difficult to expel.

Increasing fiber intake

Educating the bowel

can be acute or chronic. Laxatives, glycerin suppositories, enemas and other remedies may relieve an acute case constipation, but not chronic.
