Causative Organism
This venereal disease (sexually transmitted) is caused by a bacterium Neisseria gonorrhoea, it affects reproductive organs and urinary system.

Mode of transmission
Gonorrhoea is transmitted either through direct sexual intercouse or even oral sex with an infected person.

In male, a thick yellowish discarge occurs while in females, there is a redness around the urinary opening (swelling of the vulva).

Gonorrhoea can best be treated with the antibiotic penicillin
